Designed for both professionals and students, David Russell’s informative and practical master class presents an expert analysis of the visual planning process. It provides an insider look at how a script can be enhanced through creative storyboarding, and how this critical tool is used by prominent directors to realise exactly the film they envision.
Equally valuable to large-budget as it is to small-budget film productions, television, animation and gaming, storyboarding aids the director in the critical stage of pre-production up until the shoot, by effectively communicating with the cast and crew what they are visually trying to achieve.
David will focus on analysing sequences which he has boarded for prominent films and how they were eventually shot and edited. Similar clips are provided for the discussion of visual effects sequences, as well as sequences designed through the use of production illustrations, which are an element in the storyboarding process.
